"feel like half a person" ... Yeah I feel that

I just wish that so many Christian conservatives wouldn't use the idea of spheres of responsibility, or trusting in God, as an excuse to casually dismiss any real concern for the people beyond their immediate sphere who they do actually have direct responsibility for because of the things they choose to do. I think we have a lot of people who feel responsible for everything that happens in the world, and can do very little about it, and are incredibly frustrated by that, and we also have a large number of people who are doing the political equivalent of absent-mindedly tossing stones from a clifftop, with no consciousness that they are striking people at the foot of the cliff, and then if anyone tries to upbraid them for what they're doing, they either take offense or pretend to some kind of wise detachment by pretending it's not their problem, and the answer is simply to trust God more. And I find that truly infuriating.
