This is so timely. So timely. I have a dear loved one who struggles with obsessing over failure…seeing even normal learning tasks as evidence of perpetual failure. I just can’t tell you how much hearing this article today is helpful to me in ministering to her.
My wife and I attended a "Discover Your Church" class last night to verify that this church is where God wants us. Something the pastor said about the covental way they look at membership fits well here. (To paraphrase) "When we mess up and hurt you, come to us so we can talk through it and make things right." It was extremely heartening to hear the lead pastor basically confess about the fact that we humans are broken, and even though we are broken, God has still called us together to be the Body of Christ to bring his kingdom to this earth. But in our brokenness, we can still do it even when we mess things up, and we will certainly mess things up.

This is the GOOB principle, applied to repentance. Super, super helpful. And beautiful.
