In lieu of my regular Wednesday post, I wanted to share two lectures I gave on one of my favorite novels, Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. This was during the pandemic, when I was a few pounds lighter and several beards smaller, but the content is still good, I think. I’m working on some other writing projects this week, so I don’t have time to write my regular post, but I hope you enjoy these lectures. To read the journal article that forms the basis of these lectures, see here. To read my thoughts on McCarthy’s sordid past, see here. I recommend listening to these lectures with the novel in hand.
As I continue writing, if there are particular topics that you’d like me to discuss, please contact me through Substack or email and let me know, especially if you are a paid subscriber.
I watched these lectures during the pandemic and they were an incredible blessing to me. I would love if you had more work on my favorite author!
