Thank you for this. Such a helpful way to understand and communicate what is actually at stake. We just purchased multiple copies as gifts for graduates, and are excited to read your book together as a family.

Agreed, but students need to feel that they will not fall behind economically by not trying to maximize their scores or efficiency. We praise the virtue of being thoughtful and creative and reading, but do we actually give people a society in which they feel secure enough to focus their energy on that instead of chasing a career? Fundamentally I suppose this is me complaining about God and about the state of the world under the curse, because I deeply resent having to spend energy on work that should go toward truth and beauty (which I realize is the most comically arrogant and pathetic thing a person can say, which I also hate).
